'Tis The Season
As the phrase goes, "Tis the Season to be Jolly" but sadly I am having a tough time getting into the swing of things this year. I know that will change in the next couple of days as we draw closer to the time of getting together with family and friends but right now I am just caught up in the hustle and bustle of my daily grind.
I am sure for some of you who are reading this; you are or have had these same feelings. I hope that will change for you as I expect it will for me.
The reason my attitude will change is because my focus will move to Jesus and the celebration of His birth in just a few days. Sadly, my focus should always be on Him and the reason He subjected Himself to becoming a baby born in a manager; Emanuel, God with Us. It shouldn't be a once a year thing but an every day affair. God's love should be something that shines forth from me every day and sadly it does not; for that I am profoundly ashamed. Yet, I am also thankful that He does not condemn me for it and accepts me and all my frailties for who I am.
So let us agree together that we will try to be better ambassadors for Jesus and truly carry the name of Christian because we represent Him in all things.
So Ginny and I hope and pray that this Christmas will be a blessed time for you with family and friends. We want to thank you for the personal sacrifices you have made in the past year for Oil of Joy Ministries and for the efforts in India. I hope you are encouraged by the work that has been done and the accomplishments that have been made with your help. May God's abundant blessings fall upon you and your family now and in the coming New Year.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Doug & Ginny Meier
