Doug's Tidbits: The Best Investment
"Slow down, you're moving too fast.."
Ever felt like the world was speeding by? My grandmother told me that as you grow older, time goes by faster. When I was young (in my teens), I thought she was crazy but now that I am in my mid-fifties, I realize how true her statement really was. It is now April; Easter is here, and it just seems like Christmas was yesterday. Where am I going with this?
God gives each of us a finite amount of time on this earth; time to do the things He has called us to do. For each one of us, God has given us something to do and it is our responsibility to figure out what that is and to "do it ." If you haven't figured out what that "something" is, it's because you are not spending enough time talking with Him each day. Notice I didn't say "praying" to Him. Yes, Jesus wants us to pray but He also wants us to fellowship with Him.
If "time" is "money", then the best investment we can make each day is to spend "time" with the Master. God will give your "purpose in life" more meaning through this time with Him because He will let you know what He really wants of you. He won't slow time down for you, but He will give you a clear purpose for your life. And people with purpose always accomplish more than those who don't.
