God Will Use Whatever You Have
Not long after Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He made His way to Capernaum and began His ministry. One day as He came along the banks of the Sea of Galilee, He saw Peter and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea. Matt 4:19-20 says, "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him."
Andrew responded immediately when called. He dropped what he was doing and followed Jesus. He was obedient, even when it meant leaving behind the important people and tasks with which he was already involved. In the past, Andrew had also been a faithful disciple of John the Baptist. He was also a personal worker. He brought his brother, Simon Peter, to Jesus. Again, we find that Andrew was not preaching, but was being a servant, or a helper who benefited the Kingdom of God greatly.
Remember, in John 6:8-9, the Scriptures tell us that Andrew was the one who told Jesus about the young lad with the five barley loaves and the two small fishes. "One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes." Because he was obedient, more than 5,000 people were fed and a miracle was seen by the people who were fed, and by us today. Let's read this account in Mark 6:40-42 "And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. And they did all eat, and were filled."
Satan wants you to feel inadequate and inferior by making you feel that you aren't as talented as other people appear to be who are around you. The truth is, God has been using you for years. Philippians 1:6 says, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Every time you use your talents or gifts, God Himself is using you, and you are working with Him to benefit His Kingdom.
You must begin to see yourself as God sees you. Stop trying to be someone else, and discover who you really are. Instead of trying to compare yourself with others, or change what God has made you to be, relax, and show Him glory by recognizing the gifts, talents, and strengths which He has given to you. Start letting Him use you in the ways for which you were created. Philippians 4:13 tells us "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." "The secret is to put what God has given to you back into His hands so it is available for Him to use."
